Who ever said beauty has its price? Well, turns out they were wrong! When all you need to do for beautiful skin is to raid your own kitchen and get hold of those natural beauty essentials. And you can finally quit worrying about half your paycheck being wasted on skin care products! Hooray!
It might amaze you that your kitchen is over loaded with secret beauty ingredients that are simple to use and many a times better than, the store bought version!
In my opinion these are the home remedies for skin that work best for every skin type:
Lemon – Skin Whitening & Acne Prevention
There are so many ways you can use lemon juice (preferably freshly squeezed). Squeeze two lemons into a half cup of water, then splash over face and rinse. Lemon juice contains alpha hydroxy acid, which dissolves dead skin and fights bacteria, so the concoction helps banish blemishes. Or you could take a tablespoon or two of freshly squeezed lemon juice and mix into a tall glass of warm water. Drink it before ingesting anything else, first thing in the morning. Its a great way to hydrate skin and treat hyperpigmentation.
Milk & Yogurt – Skin Softener & Cleanser
Yogurt & Milk are highly effective cleansers. Milk has the ability to soften skin & clean impurities. Simply patting some onto your face, letting it dry and then rinsing it off with warm water will give you noticeably softer skin.
Yogurt is rumored to be a fantastic cleansing agent as well as a skin exfoliant to some extent. Use as a cooling facial mask, and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Rinse with cold water to reduce redness, wake up dull, tired, or dry winter skin.
Olive Oil – Moisturizer & MakeUp Remover
Olive Oil has been proven very healthy for skin as it moisturizes and nourishes the skin. You can also use it as a makeup remover instead of paying extra to get the same results. Dab a little onto a damp cotton ball and watch your makeup melt right off. It will leave your skin in a better state and it doesn’t even sting.
Potato – Skin Bleaching & Anti Puffiness Agent
Potatoes help reduce swelling and puffiness and generally make the area treated lighter. Shred or slice a small piece of potato, let it chill in the fridge for a while, and then place it under your eyes for the 15 minutes or so. There should be less puff under the eyes when you remove it. Regular use helps removing dark circles.
Honey – Skin Rejuvenation
Pretty much a savior for skin. Honey acts as a natural antiseptic and antifungal, and it’s also a fantastic humectant, preserving moisture in the skin. Try dabbing a bit over broken facial acne to speed the repair process, or place on your mouth overnight to wake up with full, luscious lips.
With these simple ingredients, you’ve got yourself a fine recipe for healthy, hydrated & nourished skin, and that too without spending an extra penny!
