Limelight: In the limelight!

I’ve been meaning to do a feature on Limelight for quite some time now, but didn’t get the time to get around to it until today when I was planning to order yet another batch of their products.

Limelight is a Prêt brand offering a variety of clothing, shoes, accessories and much more. The best part however is their pricing, which is pretty affordable and a little below the scale than our average retail brands. Let’s have a look at what they have in store:

Trends We Love: Printed Pumps

Don’t we all love a nice pair of pumps? Aren’t we all slaves to these high heeled murderers? Wouldn’t we all kill for shoes that would make a statement? If you answered “yes” to any one or more of these questions, then you know you’re at the right place!

Today, we’re talking about printed pumps, which happen to be one of my favourite trending fashion items! Pumps are a wardrobe staple for most women in my opinion, they’re classy with just the right amount of humbleness. Wanna pep up your style without going overboard? Just slip in your feet into your favourite pair of printed pumps ad there you go!

Here are my top 5 picks of printed pumps from this season: Continue reading

Independence Day | Nail Art Fever

I really really really hate missing out on this, but due to certain reasons I couldn’t be a part of the Independence Day Nail Art Fever that has seemingly taken over the entire female population of Pakistan this time around. Hehe, just kidding.

But. I haven’t been sitting idle! I’ve kept my ever-so-watchful eye on all the brands that are propagating this trend. Yes you, I’m watching you!

And the top 4 takers are Maybelline New York – PakistanColor Studio – PakistanL’Oréal Paris – Pakistan,  Essie Nail Polish Pakistan. Have a look:

NOTD – Chanel Le Vernis in Taboo

I’m doing NOTD after such a looong time and it feels so good because I’ve got something special in store for today! I’m wearing Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Taboo 583 which is a deep purple iridescent nail enamel with red undertones that shimmer violet and coppery red.

I’m so mesmerized by this one that I could look at the dancing shimmers for hours! Chanel nail colous are exactly what you expect from a high-end brand; luxurious and flawless. A friend of mine got this for me saying the shade name “Taboo” goes well with me, and I can’t say I disagree. 😛

Eid 2013 Roundup: Retail brands

Considering the popularity of retail fashion in Pakistani market, we can’t leave these clothing labels out when it comes to Eid fashion. Here are some of the best collections that came out this time around based on their quality, pricing, availability and everything else you could ask for!

Honorable mention for Daaman as the collection is as good as always, however their inability to put together a simple shoot to showcase the products is very annoying.

Thank God I’m Fabulous – An upcoming clothing label from Lahore

Fab, fabulous, fabulousness. That’s TGIF summed up in three words.

We had a little one on one with Zainab Masood – The creator of Thank God I’m Fabulous about the brand, her inspirations and the Eid collection that was completely sold out on their first exhibition. Kudos to that!

TGIF‘s Philosophy:

TGIF is a fun, fashion-forward and alternative clothing label. Centred around bold illustrated tops in quirky prints and statement colors, TGIF isn’t for the faint-hearted! Featuring a superb range of edgy and unique graphic prints, here you will see a lot of love for comics, retro pin-ups, vintage and kitschy oddities and desi pop art- along with a number of other things that are sure to make you happy!

If you have a twisted sense of humor and like alternative fashion, you will fit right in with TGIF Continue reading

This Eid, go WHITE!

Dreamy whites and pastels are the usual color palette for KOEL, but this time around all the brands seem to be catching up the white fever.

If there is one thing consistent in all Eid catalogues for 2013; it’s the predomination of the color WHITE. From Khaadi to Bareeze, Generation to Origins – Ready to Wear and Chinyere to Ethnic by Outfitters, they all have a piece in white if not more. The Eid collection from Nida Azwer‘s Atelier seems to be spot on with the trend and is by far my favorite collection.  Continue reading
